William Butcher
William Butcher was born in Hertfordshire, England in 1998. He grew up in the town of Hertford and spent many weeks every year in Cornwall. After studying music & art in later school years, William continues to search for inspiration and ways to express himself in every way he can.
William’s passion for drawing began at a very young age, using skills of his hands to create endless worlds to get lost in. With a keen curiosity and openness to explore, the focus on his drawing began to convey a mystery and vastness reflecting his adventure. With attention to detail resembling a woodcut effect using only pen techniques; William’s work has been compared to artists such as Aubrey Beardsley and Franklin Booth. The focus on his latest work is heavily influenced from his time exploring India & Japan, drawing on various antique papers collected here.
Recent exhibitions include the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, Heart of The Tribe's Winter Exhibition in Glastonbury, The Hop Box in Ware, Nude Tin Can's Summer Exhibition in St Albans as well as fairs in Bath and London.
