As a photographer in the digital age, David seeks out ways to work beyond the constraints of modern digital imagery. He looks back to the earliest photographic processes and also develops his own alternative ways of producing a photographic image. These include using traditional processes such as cyanotype and gum bichromate and embellishing with water- or oil-gilded gold, silver and copper leaf.
This portrait celebrates the many wonderful masked characters at the Carnival of Venice. Also available as a one-off 3-colour gum bichromate over cyanotype print on handmade paper or a one-off cyanotype print on handmade paper. Please email info@mintarts.com if you would like to enquire about the gum bichromate/cyanotype prints.
