Waterloo No 1

As a photographer in the digital age, David seeks out ways to work beyond the constraints of modern digital imagery. He looks back to the earliest photographic processes and also develops his own alternative ways of producing a photographic image. These include using traditional processes such as cyanotype and gum bichromate and embellishing with water- or oil-gilded gold, silver and copper leaf.

This work, Waterloo No 1, is an archival photographic print using multiple exposures that looks like a painting. This edition is a full bleed print that extends all the way to the edge of the paper with no margins. It is best presented in a floating frame.
